Toshiba's BDX2000 Blu-ray Player Is Here
Toshiba's debut Blu-ray disc player will be available in November in the U.S. for $250, the company officially announced today.
The BDX2000 is Toshiba's first device that supports the Blu-ray disc format, after the company's decision to officially conced the format war in February of 2008.
The BDX2000 provides Full HD 1080p digital output and supports BD-Live (Profile 2.0). The player also boasts a faceted design featuring a smoked mirrored front panel. The stylish front panel dropdown door conceals the player's primary functions, allowing for a smooth, clean facade.

With the introduction of our BDX2000 we are offering consumers what they want with a breath-taking HD viewing experience to meet the needs of today's home theater."
Using the REGZA-LINK function, the new BDX2000 can connect with a REGZA LCD TV via a HDMI cable and display full high definition content with a single remote control. For added convenience, the BDX2000 features a SD card slot.
Toshiba BDX2000 will be available in November at a MSRP of $249.99.

Toshiba also today announced the launch of the new 18.4" Satellite P500 multimedia laptop, the company' s first to feature an integrated Blu-ray Disc (BD) drive.
The Blu-ray Re-Writable drive that supports Blu-ray ROM, BD-R and BD-RE and DVD SuperMulti DL +/RW.
In addition, using the Resolution+ technology, the Satellite P500 is able to powerfully upscale standard definition content, such as DVDs, to near high definition quality.
The laptop is powered by the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, offering up to 4GB of DDR memory and support for hard disk drives with a capacity of up to 500GB. Advanced graphics performance is provided by the latest generation of NVIDIA graphic chipsets.
The Satellite P500?s integrated HDMI connectivity provides direct compatibility with HD ready TVs and sound systems and Toshiba REGZA-Link, an HDMI-CEC interface, means that the Satellite P500 can be operated with the same remote control as other compatible HDMI-CEC devices.
In addition to HDMI-CEC, peripheral devices can connect to the Satellite P500 via three USB 2.0 ports. An eSATA/USB combo port ensures rapid file transfers, with USB Sleep-and-Charge also included to enable users to charge mobile devices when the laptop is switched off. Toshiba ConfigFree facilitates wireless network configuration via the embedded WLAN interface (802.11 a/b/g/n) with diversity antenna or via Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, while additional connectivity includes a 5-in-1 Bridge Media port, Express Card slot, S/P-DIF and FireWire - further increasing the number of tasks the Satellite P500 is able to handle.
