Toshiba to Showcase High-Performance AI and Petabyte-Scale Storage Solutions at Cloudfest 2026

Toshiba to Showcase High-Performance AI and Petabyte-Scale Storage Solutions at Cloudfest 2026

Enterprise & IT Mar 14,2026 0

Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH (Toshiba) will be exhibiting at Cloudfest 2026, which runs from March 23–26 at Europapark, Rust. Together with partners UGREEN GROUP LIMITED, PROMISE Technology and Microchip Technology Inc, Toshiba will showcase advanced storage architectures designed to meet the growing demands of AI, analytics and data-centric applications. As global data volumes continue to accelerate, organisations require scalable, cost-efficient and sustainable storage solutions. Toshiba’s enterprise HDD technology remains fundamental to delivering petabyte-scale infrastructure with optimal performance, reliability and total cost of ownership (TCO). At Cloudfest 2026, Toshiba will present multiple live demonstrations highlighting the flexibility and scalability of HDD-based storage solutions across a wide range of use cases.

The systems on display will include:
• Several NAS systems from UGREEN (2-bay to 8-bay), demonstrating performance and capacity scaling across different deployment sizes.
• A performance demonstration of a 60-bay integrated AI storage server from AIC, delivering 1PB of total storage operated by TrueNAS software. This solution is ideally suited for data-centric analytics, classical machine learning, and CPU-based AI inference workloads, with a clear upgrade path toward GPU-accelerated AI.
• A 2PB net storage configuration featuring more than 100 Toshiba 24TB HDDs deployed in AIC JBODs and server infrastructure, showcasing ZFS performance using Open-E’s JovianDSS software.
• A live demonstration of a 1.3PB storage cluster built with a Promise 60-bay JBOD and a combined hardware and software RAID architecture, emphasising performance, redundancy and scalability.

Keynote Presentation
Rainer W. Kaese, Senior Manager HDD Business Development at Toshiba Electronics Europe, will deliver a keynote presentation during the event:
Title: Designed for Decades: The Sustainability of Hard Disk Drives
Date: Wednesday, March 25, 2026
Time: 12:40 pm – 1:00 pm CET
Location: Studio Stage

This session will trace the evolution of SAS/SATA HDDs, examine why standardisation remains fundamental to enable flexibility and support sustainability, and explore future technology paths towards ever-higher capacities. Visitors can meet Toshiba and its partners - UGREEN GROUP LIMITED, PROMISE Technology and Microchip Technology Inc - at Booth C04 to experience the live demonstrations, partake in daily ‘Crash and Win’ raffles and discuss next-generation storage strategies.
