Verbatim Announces Inkjet-printable DVD+R DL Media
Verbatim announced white inkjet-printable DVD+R Double-Layer (DL)-certified media for 2.4X to 6X DL drives.
Packaged in 20-disc spindles, the new 8.5GB/240-minute discs feature an
inkjet-printable surface claimed to provide remarkable ink absorption and
excellent drying properties. Verbatims new printable +R DL media can be used
with the latest 4x and 5x DL drives, as well as new 6x drives from Pioneer and
Plextor.
Double-layer media offers distinct advantages for storing volumes of digital content because it provides nearly twice the storage capacity of a single-layer 4.7GB disc without having to flip sides or change discs. Verbatim inkjet-printable DVD+R DL media provides the added benefit of being able to print full-color reproductions of text, logos and graphics directly onto the disc for a professional look.
Produced to quality standards that are second to none, Verbatims new inkjet-printable media is fully compatible with the DVD+R DL specification endorsed by the DVD+RW Alliance.
The Double-Layer DVD+R technology it incorporates was developed by Verbatims parent company, Mitsubishi Kagaku Media (MKM) Group.
Availability
Verbatim high-speed, white inkjet-printable DVD+R DL media is available immediately through leading retailers, Internet resellers and distributors across the country. The suggested street price is about $169 per 20-disc spindle.
In related news, MKM plans to start mass production of 8x DVD+R DL media end of this month. The media will appear in the market from by the end of August.
