Verbatim being a storage expert and supplier, entered the DRAM storage area with their lineup of NVME SSDs, that have an affordable price and good performance/price ratio. Many users wish to upgrade their internal storage, especially mobile users that comply with the M2280 protocol. For those users, Verbatim has introduced to the market the Vi3000 series with storage products from 256GB up to 2TB.

The Verbatim Vi3000 2TB is an entry-level product, with a very good retail price (2TB ~ 90 Euro) and a great 1200TBW endurance. The retail package we can say its complete, and after installing your new NVME will be ready to start using the NVME SSD. Users should expect around 1.86TB of free space with NTFS format. The device has 3D NAND and DRAM-less design that helps with reducing the overall cost and at the same time giving good performance to end users.

The device at our tests performed well, provided that you are mostly using big files. We were very happy to see that the Vi3000 series won't slow down when trying to write big files as we have seen with other manufacturers. However, performance with small files isn't great if you wish to have the absolute from your system. We feel that the Vi3000 is mostly suitable for users who wish to store pictures, movies, and games and want big capacity at an affordable price. The 2TB product will top around 3.1GB/sec reading and around 2.6GB/sec writing.

While being a PCIe Gen3 product, we feel that the thermal performance was higher than expected, so you should use a passive heatsink to keep things cool down and running properly. Overall the Verbatim Vi3000 2TB NVME SSD is an entry-level solution with acceptable performance and a good retail price in the 2TB retail market. The warranty is 2 years in the EU and 5 years in the USA region.
