VIZIO Announces New Sound Bar and Subwoofer Designs, 2019 TV Collection at CES
VIZIO announced today its 2019 audio lineup, highlighted by the VIZIO 36" 5.1.4 and 36" 3.1.2 Home Theater Sound Systems with Dolby Atmos. The company is also showcasing at CES its 2019 4K HDR smart TV collection.
Audio devices
Designed to pair with a variety of televisions and room sizes, the VIZIO 36" 5.1.4 and 36" 3.1.2 Home Theater Sound Systems boast up to four upward-firing speakers designed to reflect sound off the ceiling. Engineered with cinephiles and gamers in mind, each system pushes sound from the bar's front left and right channels, expanding the soundstage. A separate center channel enables clear dialogue, while wireless subwoofers produce bass. The 36" 5.1.4 features rear surround sound and is complete with a six-inch subwoofer. The 36" 3.1.2 features a new subwoofer that provides consumers another configuration option to suit a variety of entertainment setups. The slim subwoofer tucks underneath a sofa, or can easily be hidden in a corner.
VIZIO's latest sound bar systems with Dolby Atmos feature Chromecast built-in, allowing users to stream music from audio apps like Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio and Google Play Music. By tapping the Cast button, or by downloading the free SmartCast Mobile app, users can transform any mobile device into a touchscreen remote to stream music directly to their VIZIO home theater sound system.
The 36" 5.1.4 and 36" 3.1.2 solutions also offer voice-control support for Google Assistant. While Bluetooth is integrated into all VIZIO audio products, streaming over a Wi-Fi connection allows listeners to control playback over a greater range compared to Bluetooth, in addition to experiencing higher quality audio without interruptions from texts or phone calls.
For consumers looking to add room-filling sound to a bedroom, kid's playroom or den, VISI ois offering the new VIZIO 20" 2.0 Sound Bar and 36" 5.1 and 2.1 Sound Bar options. By widening the soundstage beyond what TV speakers are capable of, the 20" 2.0 Sound Bar packs amazing sound into a small package. The compact bar features two full-range stereo speakers and integrated deep bass modules. VIZIO's 36" 5.1 and 2.1 Sound Bar Systems for 2019 are another solution for more intimate viewing environments, or larger home theater rooms. These new sound bar systems pump out up to 100 dB of sound and feature a new wireless slim subwoofer that adds deep bass as low as 50 Hz without taking up too much space. Each features integrated DTS Virtual:X technology to simulate height.
The VIZIO 36" 5.1.4 and 36" 3.1.2 Home Theater Sound Systems with Dolby Atmos, as well as the VIZIO 20" 2.0 Sound Bar and 36" 5.1 and 2.1 Sound Bar Systems will be available in Spring 2019.
SmartCast 3.0
VIZIO also announced today the latest iteration of its easy-to-use smart TV experience, VIZIO SmartCast 3.0, which brings support for Apple AirPlay 2. HomeKit, Apple's smart home platform, will also be supported, enabling consumers to control their SmartCast TVs using the Home app or by asking Siri.
Support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit on VIZIO SmartCast TVs will be available for registered beta members across the U.S. and Canada to experience in Q1 2019. Following the beta, VIZIO SmartCast 3.0 will roll out via free cloud-based updates to new and existing SmartCast TVs and displays in Q2 20191.
Building on existing voice control support, SmartCast 3.0 will also offer expanded Google Assistant actions for VIZIO SmartCast TVs. Consumers with a Google Home or Google Assistant-enabled device will have the ability to use voice commands to launch apps, select inputs as well as pause, resume, stop, fast-forward, rewind content and more. Users with Alexa-enabled devices can also control their TV, and coming later this year, launch apps without lifting a finger.
SmartCast 3.0 also includes VIZIO WatchFree, the free streaming service that provides access to live news, sports, movies, TV shows, viral videos, concerts and more all without the expense of monthly subscriptions or transaction fees. With the rollout of SmartCast 3.0, users will be able to watch new channels, including TV Spotlight, which features rotating box office favorites. New channels will join WatchFree offerings such as NBC News/MSNBC/CNBC, Fox Sports, Bloomberg Television, Action Movies, Crime Network, Fail Army, PeopleTV and more.
VIZIO 2019 TV Collection
VIZIO's 2019 4K HDR smart TV collection offers a package of expansive colors, deep blacks and luminescent whites, all enabled through a combination of Quantum Color, Active Full Array backlight performance and up to 2,900 nits of peak brightness in the flagship P-Series Quantum X 4K HDR line.
Quantum Color – VIZIO's next-gen quantum dot technology – also extends to the 2019 M-Series Quantum 4K HDR Smart TVs. The 2019 offerings will also be equipped with VIZIO's smart TV experience, SmartCast 3.0.
The lineup will begin rolling out across the U.S. in Spring 2019.
VIZIO's P-Series offerings are available in 65- and 75-inch class sizes and split into two collections – the P-Series Quantum X and P-Series Quantum 4K HDR Smart TVs. Both lines offer VIZIO's implementation of quantum dot technology – Quantum Color. With up to 480 local dimming zones – more than double any previous P-Series model – the P-Series Quantum X dynamically adjusts the Active Full Array backlight to mimic on-screen content, delivering black levels that rival OLED. As VIZIO's brightest TV yet, the P-Series Quantum X features UltraBright 2900, allowing up to 2,900 nits of peak brightness, elevating the realism of Dolby Vision HDR. The P-Series Quantum models feature up to 240 local dimming zones and up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness. Clear Action 960 and a 240Hz effective refresh rate, achieved with backlight scanning, stabilizes imagery across both lineups.
The 2019 M-Series collection is value-packed. Quantum Color technology will trickle down to enable a wider spectrum of colors that gives consumers a reason to step-up to 4K HDR. Ranging from the 43- to 65-inch class size, M-Series offers an Active Full Array backlight with up to 90 zones of local dimming, nearly double that of the 2018 M-Series collection. The M-Series also features Dolby Vision. UltraBright 600 enables up to 600 nits of peak brightness for brighter scenes with whiter whites. Clear Action 360 works to steady on-screen imagery, reducing motion blur with image processing and a 120Hz effective refresh rate.
Rounding out VIZIO's all-new 2019 offerings is the V-Series 4K HDR Smart TV lineup. VIZIO's former E-Series collection reimagined, the V-Series is perfect for anyone seeking entry-level picture quality, Dolby Vision support and a smart TV experience at a great value. Providing a wide selection of sizes, ranging from the 40-inch, all the way up to 75-inch class size, the V-Series offers an Active Full Array backlight with up to 16 zones of local dimming and UltraBright 400 for up to 400 nits of entry-level peak brightness. Viewers who love action movies will appreciate on-screen image stability with Clear Action and image processing with a 120Hz effective refresh rate, achieved with backlight scanning.
