Xbox One To Get Backwards Compatibility in November
Starting from this fall, thanks to a software update, Xbox One owners will finally be able to play their existing Xbox 360 games on the new console.
The update is expected to roll out before the end of November, and 100 or so Xbox 360 games will be compatible with the Xbox One. However, according to Mike Ybarra, Director of Program Management for Xbox, hundreds more will also become compatible over the following months.
As well as compatibility, the existing games will also be able to take advantage of several features on the Xbox One that didn't come on the Xbox 360, such as taking screenshots, streaming and DVR recording.
The software update will also bring a host of bug fixes, performance enhancements and changes to the Xbox One's online community closer.
