XC Cube series receives the Good Design Award 2004
The XC Cube series of AOpen, Inc. won the " Good Design Award " in the product design category of the Good Design Award in 2004 sponsored by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization .
The "XC Cube series" was judged as a cube PC suitable for all environments, and rewarded with the Good Design Award in 2004. As for the design of this personal computer, priority was given to function, with design following closely behind. The XC Cube is gaining support not only from conventional PC customers, but also from women sensitive to challenging new designs.
The Good Design Award is Japan's only encompassing design evaluation and recommendation award system. It is highly appreciated and valued by Japanese designers and manufacturers, as well as by representatives of the life style and IT industry alike . The "XC Cube series" is a cube type barebones PC system. It contains all the basic components such as the case, power supply and motherboard. Because the additional DIY components can be selected and installed separately, the customer can decide his or her own personal computer specs.
The flagship of the XC Cube series, the "XC Cube AV EA65-II", even includes a TV tuner and remote control, allowing it to not only to function as a personal computer, but also as a home theater; offering AV entertainment features such as watching TV or listening to FM radio.
