ZTE Lures Selfie Lovers With New Blade S7 Smartphone
ZTE today unveiled the company’s most powerful selfie smartphone to date. The new ZTE Blade S7 is armed with 13-megapizel cameras at both the front and rear sides. With a host of features for selfie lovers, the Blade S7 will initially be available for purchase in several markets across the Asia Pacific.
The smartphone features a 5.0-inch full HD (1920x1080 pixels) LTPS screen with a 445 PPI Super Retina display for 178 degree full viewing angles. Housed in an aluminum alloy frame with thin bezels, Blade S7 offers a 72.1 percent screen-to-body ratio and is protected with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 on both the front and back. Blade S7 is just 7.2mm thick and 67mm wide -- great for one-handed use.
Packing a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, Blade S7 comes with a front flash and phase detection autofocus, as well as functions for panorama shots and 14 different beautification options.
At the back, the Blade S7’s 13-megapixel rear camera supports professional and auto shooting modes, selective focus, and laser auto focus for fast shooting in low-light conditions.
Blade S7 comes with an improved version of the gesture control function that features on the Blade S6 – Smart Sense. This includes Magic Gestures, whereby users can draw different letters on a locked screen with their fingertips to launch a customized selection of applications. In addition, a series of other gestures allow users to quickly mute the device, activate its camera, play music, answer calls, and more.
A fingerprint scanner located on Blade S7’s home button can be used to unlock encrypted applications and images. The fingerprint scanner also comes with One Press Launch, a feature that allows users to unlock the device and launch different applications with different fingerprints.
Blade S7 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop customized with ZTE's MiFavor 3.2 UI and features a Qualcomm 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of DDR3 RAM, and 32GB of eMMC internal storage.
Blade S7 will first go on sale in Thailand, and will later be made available in other markets across the Asia-Pacific.
