Japanese owners of the Toshiba RD-A1 HD DVD recorders have the chance to upgrade the firmware of their devices through internet. Toshiba released the third firmware update for its first HD DVD recorder. The new firmware adds (Ver03) adds support for Dolby NR TureHD audio. In addtion, it solves an HDMI issue that did not allow reproduction of some HD DVD video discs.
