VST ships USB/FireWire Hard Drive in capacities up to 25GB

VST ships USB/FireWire Hard Drive in capacities up to 25GB

General Interest Jan 5,2000 0

"..VST Technologies, Inc. today announced a new series of integrated Universal Serial Bus (USB) and FireWire (IEEE 1394) hard drives in capacities up to 25GB. These drives are the world's first to provide both USB and FireWire interfaces integrated into the worlds fastest, smallest, most compact enclosure available.

VST's new products include the ultra portable series of USB/FireWire hard drives in 6, 12, 18 and 25 Gigabyte capacities. Designed in the same unique enclosure as the VST FireWire Hard Drives, the smallest, lightest and most compact in the world, feature full hot-plug/unplug support and improved data transfer rates of up to 14 megabytes per second (FireWire) - fast enough to allow direct-to-disk broadcast-quality video authoring and capture at low consumer price points.

In addition to FireWire, the same drive may be used with any USB equipped computer, with full hot-plug support, without the need to shut-down or restart the computer. VST's 6 and 12 gigabyte ultra compact drives measure only 3 in (W) x 5.5 in (D) x 0.68 in (H), and weigh just 6.5 ounces. The 18GB and 25GB models address users demands for larger capacities for a variety of digital video, internet content, audio and multimedia applications, while maintaining true portability and the same small 3 x 5 inch footprint. VST's new integrated USB/FireWire Hard Drives are available in 6, 12, 18 and 25GB capacities, and will ship in Q1.." NULL
