"...B.H.A. Co. Ltd. of Japan and Ahead Software GmbH, have announced a strategic alliance in the World of CD-recording, Internet audio, and DVD application software. BHA and Ahead have agreed to co-operate in a number of different areas including technology, product marketing and distribution, and application development.

BHA, headquartered in Osaka Japan, produce utilities for storage devices and are true pioneers in the CD-recording software industry, having developed some of the earliest recording solutions in 1993. They possess considerable strength in both Windows and Macintosh applications, and command a market share in Japan in excess of 50% for their CD-R/RW solutions B’s Recorder and B’s Clip. BHA products are bundled with many of the leading CD-R/RW drives in the Japanese market.

Ahead Software GmbH, headquartered in Karlsbad, Germany, produce the renowned Nero Burning Rom, CD-recording software. First introduced in 1997, Nero has built its reputation on boasting an application not just rich on features, but including one of the fastest and most robust recording engines available. It has a truly international flavour, encompassing unrivalled multi-language coverage. Ahead also exclusively handles the audio CD Recording software Feurio, and other quality software applications.

During the next year, both Ahead and BHA will announce new products and technology based on this alliance.

Commenting on this announcement, Mr. Masaharu Yoshihara, President of BHA, said “The CD Recording market is no longer a niche and specialised field. We are seeing further integration of drives into everyday PC solutions, and CD-RW has become a trusted storage medium throughout the world. Therefore, we see a strategic alliance with Ahead as significant to BHA in our efforts to capitalise on an exponential growing market.”

Mr. Richard Lesser, President of Ahead Software, said “BHA and Ahead share the same vision towards the CD Recording application market. With the emergence of many new related technologies, we see a tremendous opportunity to fulfil a need in cross platform application and Internet based technology. This strategic alliance will place both BHA and Ahead in a primary position to meet our customer’s expectations in the future..." NULL
