New Fitbit Trackers And Nexus Android Wear Smartwatches Are Coming

Smartphones Jul 10,2016 0

This week, the wearable tech rumour mill provideed "news" of four high-profile devices that could be set to launch in the coming months - a pair of Nexus Android Wear smartwatches as well a duo of new Fitbit fitness trackers. Wareable.com has the scoop on the new Fitbits – codenamed Laryon and Fermion – that are currently undergoing field testing. The devices, which could well land as the Fitbit Charge 2 and the Fitbit Flex 2, are expected to be announced in September at IFA 2016.

Fitbit's latest wearable device, the Blaze, receiving only a lukewarm response. The San Francisco based company has also seen is heart rate monitoring tech’s accuracy questioned in a class action lawsuit.

Smartwatch fans will also be excited to hear about the two new Nexus branded Android Wear devices that are reportedly coming soon.

Android Police has the lowdown on the duo – codenamed Angelfish and Swordfish – with the new watches supposedly of the round-faced variety but without that annoying flat tyre dead area at the bottom that the likes of the Moto 360 have been blighted by.

The Angelfish is packing both GPS and LTE connectivity. The report claims that both Nexus smartwatches will feature Google Assistant integration with contextual alerts

It’s expected that the smartwatches will be announced after the next Nexus smartphones – codenamed Sailfish and Marlin – go on sale.
