Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S8, scheduled to be released at the end of this month, will feature face recognition technology along with iris recognition.

Officials at Samsung Electronics said on March 8, "We decided to have Galaxy S8 mounted with the face recognition function since iris recognition is limited in terms of accuracy and speed of recognition." They added that face recognition will allow users to unlock the smartphone within just 0.01 seconds.

Apple has also decided to introduce a face recognition technology with the iPhone 8, which will be available from the second half of this year.
