Samsung to Add Bixby to New ARTIK IoT Solution

Samsung Electronics will soon add its Bixby AI voice recognition platform to the ARTIK development boards for IoT, in a single tool that that offers both hardware and software.

With the 'ARTIK Bixby' solution, expected to launch next month, Samsung hopes that it could give IoT developers an attractive platform and expand further Bixby's ecosystem.

ARTIK is a hardware development board featuring an Application Processor, memory, connectivity chip, and sensors.

Bixby is an AI voice recognition platform developed by Samsung and first appeared in the company's Galaxy S8 smartphone. Samsung is actively pushing Bixby in order to make it accessible to AI markets and will focus on applying Bixby to many products such as TVs and refrigerators. The company recently introduced Bixby 2.0, which combines Samsung's technologies and technologies from VIV Labs. VIV Labs is a company that was established by inventors of Apple's Siri.

The 'ARTIK Bixby' platform will support features such as noise cancelling and will have a microphone input.
