MSI
MSI is mostly known from Mainboard and Graphic card series. However, the company demonstrated a new line of optical storage drives, starting with the new CR52-M 52x CD-RW recorder. The drive also supports 24x CD-RW writing and 52x CD-ROM reading. The same drive is available with an external USB2.0 case, under the codename CRE52-M.
DR4-A is a new dual DVD recorder, supporting 4x DVD+R and 2.4x DVD+RW writing, 4x DVD-R and 2x DVD-RW writing, and 12x DVD-ROM reading. The drive is also a 24x/10x/40x CD-RW recorder. A very interesting feature of the new DR4-A is that it supports the BURN-Proof buffer underun protection, which is licensed by Sanyo, and has an 8MB cache buffer. In the pictures below you can see the drive's main specifications and the a front view of the dual recorder itself:
The new XP48-A model, illustrated below, is a portable combo drive supporting 48x CD-R, 24x CD-RW writing and 48x/16x CD-ROM/DVD-ROM reading. The drive uses the JustLink buffer underun protection, EXACT-Rec which monitors the accuracy of writing and is equipped with a 2MB cache memory. Connection is established through the USB2.0 interface.
