The decoder will be applied on the 24-Bit motherboard audio solution. DTS, Inc. announced today that Creative's new Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit audio solution for motherboard manufacturers will feature DTS technology. Planned for Gigabyte and Shuttle Computer motherboard models that will be shipping this fall, the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit motherboard audio solution will include DTS 5.1-channel surround sound, DTS-ES and DTS Neo:6 decoding capabilities. This represents the first time Creative is offering a high quality audio silicon solution for implementation directly by motherboard manufacturers.

"With a leader in digital entertainment products for the PC like Creative incorporating DTS, more and more consumers have the ability to play DTS soundtracks on their PCs," said Brian Towne, Senior Vice President, Consumer Division at DTS. "Creative's introduction of the Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit audio solution for motherboard manufacturers is making the playback of DTS surround sound on the PC even more seamless."

"DTS is known by audio aficionados as the highest-quality sound solution for home theaters, car audio and game consoles, and we are pleased to help deliver that technology to personal computers," said Steve Erickson, Vice President of Audio for Creative. "Our partnerships with motherboard manufacturers such as Shuttle and Gigabyte are bringing superior Sound Blaster and DTS technology to PCs and ensuring that these users have the best high-definition audio experience possible."
