Flash Player 3D In the Works
In an October event, Adobe will present its next generation
3D API coming in a future version of Flash player.
The session entitled "Flash Player 3D future" will be held
at Max 2010, October 27 in Los Angeles. Sebastian
Marketsmueller (Flash Player engineer) will deep dive into
the next generation 3D API coming in a future version of the
Flash Player. He will unveil new APIs and demos, including
some exclusive content for Flash Platform developers.
At the same session, Lee Thomason (Flash Player architect) will delve into the details of the Flash Player renderer, and show how to optimize the rendering performance of applications. Lee will cover mechanisms like the display list, text rendering, shaders, GPU hardware acceleration, and exclusive features coming in a future version of Flash Player.
Adobe did not dscilose any further details about the 3D enabled Flash Player or its availability. Adobe's thibault Imbert just promises that "..after this session, Flash Player rendering will no longer be a mystery for you.. " in a blog post.
