Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. unveiled on July 10 the "DMR-HS2," a built-in hard disk drive DVD video recorder equipped with a PC card slot. Matsushita will release it on Aug. 1, and its price will be 135,000 yen. It features recording image data on a small memory card taken by a digital camera directly on HDD and DVD-RAM media without connecting a PC. DMR-HS2 has a 40GB HDD and a DVD-RAM/R drive. It allows users to record for 52 hours on the built-in HDD, about 12 hours on the DVD-RAM media and about 9 hours on the DVD-R media by connecting an external TV or DV camera via a cable.
