Nero Powering Multimedia File Syncing Solution for Dell's New Stage Platform

Smartphones Jan 14,2011 0

Nero's MobileSync technology platform is an essential feature of Dell's new SyncUP solution, which will allow users to sync their multimedia and contact information between systems, their Dell mobile devices and the cloud. SyncUP offers users a number of features, including the ability to automatically sync media between connected PCs and mobile handsets through a home Wi-Fi network and back-up Outlook contacts or a phone's personal address book, while keeping personal and professional addresses separate. It also offers the ability to easily offload photos and videos from a phone to the cloud to free up storage space.

Through SyncUP, Dell users will be able to download and share pictures across platforms, regardless of whether the files live on their computer, phone or on Internet portals like Facebook or Flickr. Movies and music can also be streamed to different devices through Nero's multimedia engine. For the mobile professional, documents and files can be synced across different devices, regardless of their location. Android smartphone users who lost or damaged their handset will also be able to restore their personal information and content from the cloud.

A Nero-powered SyncUP software application is available immediately for both Windows PCs and Mac OS X from www.dell.com. It will also come pre-loaded on all of Dell's consumer PCs shipping worldwide in 2011. The application triggers synchronisation between a mobile device and computer when a connection is established via USB or via Wi-Fi as soon as a user enters their home network.

Nero has also developed a Dell Syncmobile app that will come pre-loaded on Dell's Android-powered handset and tablets (running Android 2.2 or later). Current Dell Streak owners can already download the Dell Sync app from the Android Market.

At the end of Q1 2011, the SyncUP solution will enable users to sync their PC and smartphone's multimedia content and PIM contacts with a cloud-based subscription service, which will be powered by Nero. Multiple PCs and handheld devices can be configured to work with a SyncUP Online account, which will closely monitor changes on all registered PCs and mobile devices. In addition to being able to sync and transfer content to and through these cloud services, consumers will also be able to sync content between multiple PCs on the home network or via the Internet by connecting them to the cloud storage service.
