New TDK video capture box makes it easy to create video movies

New TDK video capture box makes it easy to create video movies

General Interest Dec 19,2002 0

At COMDEX 2002, TDK establishes its position as a total video solution provider with the introduction of its TDK Video Capture Box, an easy to use video-to-computer interface that gives consumers the power to create professional-looking movies at home on their PC. The Video Capture Box accepts video from analog sources such as a camcorder, VCR or TV and converts it to DVD-quality digital video, then transfers it to a computer's hard drive via its USB 2.0 interface. Once the video is captured, the included software bundle gives users the power to edit and author professional-quality movies onto DVD or videotape. Peter Fil, TDK Product Manager pointed out: "More and more consumers want to become involved in computer video editing, but don't have a DV camcorder or computer with a compatible digital connection and video card. The TDK Video Capture Box solves the problem - it's a simple and economical solution that enables anyone with a conventional analog camcorder or VCR to easily transfer their footage to their PC, and harness the power of their computer to create great-looking movies with that professional, 'finished' look."

TDK Turns A Computer Into A Complete Movie Studio

The TDK Video Capture Box includes everything needed to turn a PC into a powerful and versatile video editing studio. The Video Capture Box connects to a PC's USB 2.0 port (it is also USB 1.0-compatible). It features two sets of A/V composite video and stereo audio jacks, enabling two video sources to be connected at the same time, plus an S-Video jack to capture the best video quality from sources with S-Video outputs. The unit is supplied with a USB 2.0 cable, a set of A/V cables, an AC adapter, Pinnacle Studio 8se video capture, editing and authoring software and a detailed user manual.

The TDK Video Capture Box includes a high-quality, high-speed internal processor that operates in conjunction with the included video capture software, to convert analog video into MPEG-2 DVD-quality digital video in real time. Because the digital conversion is done in the Video Capture Box rather than the computer, valuable hard drive space is saved.

But that's only the beginning. Once the digital video is saved, the bundled Pinnacle Studio 8se editing and authoring software gives users the ability to exercise their maximum creative expression to edit unwanted scenes, re-sequence scenes, and add professional-looking menus and effects, including fades, titles and music - everything needed to make sensational-looking movies. Once a movie is completed, the software can then author the finished work onto recordable DVD, or transfer it to VHS. In addition, the user can create video slide shows of still images, or streaming video files to send over the Internet.

The TDK Video Capture Box (Model number VC-2600UE) will be available in December 2002 at a suggested retail price of $199.99.
