NTI Announces DVD Support
NewTech Infosystems, Inc. (NTI) said yesterday that its CD recording and backup software for PCs will support all DVD standards by the end of 2001.
The announcement was made at the DVD+RW Alliance Press Conference at COMDEX where NTI demonstrated the DVD+RW support capabilities of its award-winning software, NTI Backup NOW!, NTI CD-Maker, and FileCD. NTI Backup NOW! turns a CD or DVD recordable drive into a complete PC backup solution that protects the operating system, applications and files; NTI CD-Maker turns a CD or DVD recordable drive into a virtual recording studio; and FileCD is NTI's high-performance
packet-writing software.
"By the end of this year, we will add DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW support to our entire PC software product line," said Bill Yao, NTI president and CEO. "This early DVD support allows OEMs to immediately begin including our powerful capabilities in their DVD products. NTI is one of the first companies to provide software for both DVD burning and DVD backup. This, coupled with our entry this week into the Mac market when we introduced our DragonBurn! software, makes NTI the most complete one-stop software provider for manufacturers and distributors of DVD and CD recordable drives."
