Philips released a new document describing High Capacity Recordable discs with a maximum single session time of 98 minutes, 29 seconds, 74 frames on 12 cm discs. For 8cm discs the playing time will be roughly 30 minutes.The recorded High Capacity Recordable is not fully compliant with the Red Book, but will be playable on the majority of the installed base CD players.
