Plextor released today its latest personal storage device - the PX-MPE500U - a PC-to-TV consumer multimedia player to enable PC files to be played back on a TV or hi-fi, including audio, video & photo files. Comprising a 500GB hard disk, the device it comes with wide compatibility with all popular file types for every occasion - including DVD folder, DivX, Xvid, MPEG-1/2, MP3 and JPEG. The PX-MPE500U can be connected to a PC via USB and used to store videos or still images. The player than can connected to TV or Hi-Fi through Scart or audio/video plugs.

Key features of the new player include video upscaling to 720P (HD Ready), Hi-Definition JPEG display, creation of playlists on computer, digital photo viewer with thumbnail preview.

The Plextor PX-MPE500U will be available from January 2008 at Plextor's network of dealers.
