Plextor's 18x DVD Burner Scheduled For End of February
Plextor Japan said that its 18x DVD burners, the PX-760A series, will be available by the end of February.
The PX-760A was initially announced last October and it was scheduled to hit the market in the beginning of December. However, Plextor had postponed the launch of the drive saying that the 18x writing quality of the PX-760A drive in combination with the available media did not meet Plextor's internal writing quality standards.
However, Plextor did not mention the exact shipping date of the drives.
The PX-760A has been announced as capable of recording at 10x on 8x DVD+R DL media as well as at 18x on selected DVD±R discs. Other features include 8x recording for DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, and 48x/24x for CD-R/RW. PlexTools Professional will be included in the retail package offering the popular Q-Check TA Test, Q-Check PI/PO Test, Q-Check Beta/Jitter Test and Q-Check FE/TE Test features.
