Rimage releases the DiscLab CD Publisher designed for Photo Minilab retailers
Rimage today announced the availability of a new CD Publisher called DiscLab(TM). DiscLab is the first automated CD output device specifically engineered for the retail photo finishing market. Rimage has an extensive history in the photo industry, particularly with large wholesale labs.
"Moving into the world of retail minilabs is a natural extension of the role we already play in the photo CD market." Observed Dave Suden, CTO, "With the goal to meet the special requirements of minilab retailers, we discovered that these environments had several very specific needs. They required a high-quality solution at an exceptional value, a simple and intuitive system anyone could readily operate, stunning label printing capabilities, systems that would easily integrate into a wide variety of minilabs, and one with a small enough footprint to preserve their valuable retail space. DiscLab truly meets all these requirements, and enables retailers to generate a whole new revenue stream by simply offering their customers a permanent, compact way to hang on to their memories."
Built on the proven performance of the Rimage family of CD and DVD publishers, this automated solution is capable of recording and printing up to 55 discs per hour. As mentioned, it features a remarkably small footprint - the width at a mere 9 inches, with collating disc trays and 75 disc output bin (Width of 5") designed to hang over the edge of a counter - preserving retail space. Each DiscLab unit comes standard with our Everest(TM) thermal retransfer CD label printer for full-color, photo-realistic labels that won't scratch or fade. The optional disc collator lets you sort discs for easy pairing with each customer's print order, while the 75-disc CD output bin allows for continuous operation, even when collating trays are full, so your system will always be in production mode. The no-hassle, self-contained robotic system, easy front panel operation, and conveniently placed front access door, which swings open for quick reloading of discs, all work together to make this the ideal solution for a minilab environment. Retailers will now personally be able to assist customers in preserving their priceless memories for years to come.
DiscLab will be made available to retailers through a variety of key partners in the photo minilab industry. For more information please contact Rachel Zakariasen at Rimage via email at rachelz@rimage.com or by phone at 952-944-8144.
