Sharp Aquos Crystal 2 And Crystal Xx Smartphones Released
Sharp has recently unveiled a two new Android smartphones featuring extremely slim bezels - the Aquos Crystal Xx and the Aquos Crystal 2. The Sharp Aquos Crystal Xx has a 5.7-inch screen featuring the company's S-PureLCD display with a 1080p resolution providing 386ppi. The phone's body is measuring just 146 x 76 x 8.7mm and weighs 168g. It comes equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with an Adreno 430 GPU, a 13MP main camera, a 2MP front camera with CMOS sensor, Wi-Fi and 4G. It is powered by a large 3,000mAh battery.
Sharp also released the successor to the original Aquos Crystal. The Aquos Crystal 2 is a mid-range phone featuring a 720p (1280 x 720) 5.2-inch S-PureLED screen. This one is not as slim as the Crystal Xx model - its dimensions are 136 x 71 x 11mm and it weighs 154g. But it is splash resistant and features Sharp's 'Grip Magic' touch sensitivity on the sides of the phone chassis.
Under the hood, the Aquos Crystal 2 packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor with Adreno 305 GPU, an 8MP CMOS sensor main camera and 2MP selfie camera with CMOS sensor. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi and 4G and it is powered by a 2,030mAh battery unit.
Both smartphones ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed. They will be available in Japan in July, with more countries to follow.
