Sharp Unveils Next-generation X Series AQUOS LCD TVs

Sharp Unveils Next-generation X Series AQUOS LCD TVs

Consumer Electronics Sep 30,2008 0

Sharp will introduce into the Japanese market two new models in the AQUOS X Series of LCD TVs that feature Sharp?s newly developed, next-generation MegaASV LCD technology. MegaASV LCD technology offers combibes overwhelmingly superb picture quality, a thin-profile design and environmental performance, according to Sharp.

The new X Series includes the LC-65XS1 (65") and the LC-52XS1 (52") full HD models. Both models boast "mega-contrast", a TV contrast of more than 1,000,000:1, promising to deliver deep, rich blacks never before possible. Plus, it expands the reproducible color gamut to 150% of the NTSC color space.

These new X Series models offer sophisticated style through a display that is, at its thinnest part, a mere 2.28 cm deep and through the use of metallic material for the cabinet and other parts. On the environmental side, annual power consumption for the 65V-inch model is 294 kWh/year, down approximately 26% compared to Sharp?s 2007 model.

These models also incorporate a thin-design, 2.1-channel, three-way five-speaker system, jointly developed by Sharp and Pioneer.

The AQUOS Familink interface enables users to operate an AQUOS Blu-ray Disc Player or an AQUOS HD Recorder connected to the AQUOS TV. And using AQUOS Familink is now easier than ever; functions such as recording, viewing, and setting timed recordings can all be navigated with ease right from the newly developed LCD remote control.

What?s more, these X Series TVs boast the Picture function, which lets users display a still image on the TV screen?like decorating a room with a picture.

The high-end models will be introduced in Japan in the 15th of October priced at 1.28 million yen ($12.300) and 980,000 yen ($9.400) for the 65"and 52" models, respectively.
