TDK showcases IndiDVD at CES2003 - 4x DVD-R/+R and 16x CD writer!

General Interest Jan 10,2003 0

At CES 2003, TDK is demonstrating its leadership position in digital recording and playback solutions by showcasing its newest Indi DVD (Model 440) – a highly versatile Multi-format DVD burner capable of 4x writing for both the DVD+R and DVD–R formats. The internal DVD writer is designed to give PC users the broadest range of flexibility in creative video/audio applications, including the ability to create, edit and share customized DVDs and CDs using video, still digital images, music and data, regardless of format. In addition to the new Multi-format drive, TDK recently introduced its single-format Indi DVD (Model 420N) offering home moviemakers the fastest burner on the market today, capable of 4x DVD+R burning – the most compatible format for today’s stand-alone DVD players. Both advanced TDK Indi DVD burners give users the ability to back up and archive up to 4.7GB worth of files on a single-sided recordable DVD disc, as well as create still photo albums for viewing with DVD players. TDK Indi DVD burners also utilize a specially designed high-quiet mechanism that attenuates operational noise (maximum 45 dB acoustic noise).

Indi DVD Puts Everyone in the Director’s Chair

The TDK Indi DVD line allows anyone to become an at-home movie director and create professional-looking home movies on DVD. Indi DVD gives individuals the ability to produce movies containing up to two hours of stunning high-resolution DVD-quality video on a single 4.7GB DVD disc, or up to four hours of better than VHS-quality footage.

TDK’s Indi DVDs are designed for total ease-of-use, to unlock the creative talents of home moviemakers everywhere. For example, with Indi DVD, it’s fast and easy to record collections of VHS and camcorder tapes onto a digital DVD disc. In addition, Indi DVD’s convenient software suite lets users produce professional-looking home movies. And if someone comes back from a vacation with hours and hours of footage, Indi DVD makes it easy for them to edit it down to a DVD with just the most memorable moments.

The Only DVD Burners With Full Editing and Authoring In One Software Application

Key to Indi DVD’s creative power and ease-of-use is the included advanced software bundle from Pinnacle Systems, the leader in digital video solutions. Featuring both DVD editing and authoring, Pinnacle Studio 8se enables individuals to create dynamic video projects with ease, import and edit camcorder footage in exciting new ways, archive personal video collections and produce great-looking DVDs from start to finish. Pinnacle Studio 8se also allows users to import AVI files, enabling existing movies stored on a user’s PC to be easily transferred to DVD media and shared with family and friends. Individuals can also easily personalize their DVD projects by adding professional-looking menus and effects, including fades, titles and music – everything needed for true Hollywood-style home movies – without having to switch between applications. The software suite also includes TDK’s Digital MixMaster for music mastering, NeroExpress for data mastering, and InCD packet writing software.

“Recordable DVD has brought incredible new energy and excitement to home moviemaking,” noted TDK’s Vice President of Marketing, Bruce Youmans, “and TDK intends to lead the way in providing individuals with the solutions they need to experience all the fun and creativity of this new medium. With Indi DVD, for example, we made it our top priority not only to provide the most creative applications, but also to include an interface that is so easy to use that as soon as you plug in you’re ready to start making great-looking movies. With the introduction of the Multi-format Indi DVD, TDK offers the widest choice in optical recording solutions in one product – DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW – along with TDK media that consumers can trust for the highest-quality recording performance.”

TDK Offers the Widest Choice of Recordable DVD Media

TDK offers the widest range of DVD recording media for home movies, music, multimedia and data, including DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW discs for general use and authoring. Manufactured to the world’s most demanding standards, TDK’s recordable DVD media is the most reliable and durable in the industry, and offers the highest compatibility with DVD-ROM drives and DVD-Video players.

The Indi DVD Multi-format (Model 440) DVD writer will be available in April 2003 with an estimated street price $299.99. The Indi DVD single format model (Model 420N) is currently available.
