The Toshiba Exceria Pro SD Memory Cards (UHS-II U3) have been designed to offer pure speed. We measured impressive sequential speeds of 247 MB/s for read and 214 MB/s for write. Those figures are close to the maximum theoretical performance quoted by Toshiba. Of course, the card should operate in UHS-II bus modes HD312 (3.12 Gbps) in order to achieve this performance. So make sure your card reader or your camera is compatible with UHS-II speeds before buying this card. In UHS-I operation, the Exceria Pro 64GB SDXC will top at about 87 MB/s read and 80 MB/s write, depending on the host device.

Backed by a long, five-year warranty, the Toshiba Exceria Pro 64GB retails on Amazon for $250. In terms of performance, it should be competing with Sandisk's Extreme Pro 64 GB Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC), which can be found online for significantly less - for about $130. We hope to get our hands on Sandisk's proposal soon in order to run some benchmarks with it.

For those seeking speed at any cost, the Toshiba Exceria Pro UHS-II gets a recommendation. It will provide excellent performance in UHS-II devices and offer speeds that match even some low-end SSDs.
