Toshiba's New PCs Combine Functionality, Mobility and Performance
Toshiba Europe announced at IFA three new devices, the Toshiba Satellite Radius 12, a 12.5 inch Ultra HD convertible PC, the Toshiba Satellite Radius 14, and the Toshiba Satellite Click 10 detachable PC. The Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 features the latest in Windows 10 functionality. With five different modes, the Satellite Radius 12 offers convenience plus the option of an Ultra HD 4K display.
With Windows 10, the Satellite Radius 12 benefits from the best in Windows functionality. Continuum allows a smooth transition for content and apps when switching the Satellite Radius 12 between desktop and tablet modes and security is enhanced with the inclusion of Windows Hello for biometric authentication such as face detection to login combined with the built in HD webcam. With a dedicated Cortana button, users benefit from Cortana, Microsoft's personal digital assistant who works across user’s devices.
To complete the entertainment package, built in harman kardon speakers tuned by DTS Sound combine to deliver audio. In addition, wireless music via Bluetooth Link allows users to playback their favorite tunes through the Satellite Radius 12 speakers from their compatible smartphone or tablet.
The Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 will be available in the U.S. and Europe during the fourth quarter of 2015.
The Satellite Radius 14 is adapting quickly with a 360 degree rotating screen through the five different modes – laptop, tablet, tabletop, presentation and audience. It has a 10-point multi-touch display and a frameless backlit tiled keyboard.
Designed for Windows 10, the Satellite Radius 14 includes a quick access key and voice-activated access to Cortana as well as multi-directional dual-array microphones for clarity even in noisy environments.
Built-in harman kardon speakers with DTS Sound enhancement are responsible for audio playback. In addition, Bluetooth Link technology enables wireless connection of external devices to play music through the Satellite Radius 14’s speakers.
The The Satellite Radius 14 has a battery life of up to ten hours, the option of up to new 6th gen Intel Core processors or AMD Quad-Core processors, along with an optional SSD.
The Toshiba Satellite Radius 14 will be available in the fourth quarter of 2015.
The Satellite Click 10 is a detachable device that is transformed from a laptop to a tablet.
It comes with a full-sized keyboard, new generation of Intel Atom processor and up to 4GB RAM built in. Up to 64GB eMMC storage provides plenty of storage for music, which can be extended further via the microSD card slot on the tablet with a maximum capacity of up to 128GB.
Its battery life is over 14 hours. An intelligent charging system means the tablet will always charge first and discharge after the keyboard to maximize its use when undocked. The Satellite Click 10 also includes side-firing stereo speakers featuring Dolby Digital Plus.
The Toshiba Satellite Click 10 will be available in Europe during the fourth quarter of 2015.
