Upgraded Nokia 6 Packs More Power and RAM
Nokia has released an upgraded version of the Nokia 6 smartphone in China. The device is featuring a better processor, USB-C, and more RAM at 4GB.
The new Nokia 6 is armed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, whereas the original had a Snapdragon 430 processor.
Not much have changed in terms of design, though the fingerprint scanner has been moved from beneath the front screen to the back of the phone. The device is also about 1mm thicker than the original model, and retains its 5.5-inch 1080p screen and the 16-megapixel rear camera.
There are options for 32GB or 64GB of storage, which is expandable via microSD up to 128GB. Nokia says the USB-C charger also delivers up to 50 percent power in 30 minutes.
The mid-range smartphone ships with Android Nougat 7.1.1, with support for Android Oreo to come. It is currently available for preorder for 1,499 yuan in China (about $230) for the 32GB model.
It is not clear whether HMD Global, which makes Nokia phones, will bring the new device to Europe and the US.
