Verbatim expands unique Digital Vinyl CD-R line with inkjet-printable 50-disc spindles

Verbatim expands unique Digital Vinyl CD-R line with inkjet-printable 50-disc spindles

Optical Storage May 2,2003 0

Verbatim Corporation, manufacturer of the innovative Digital Vinyl CD-Rs, announced today a new inkjet-printable version in convenient, 50-disc spindles. Like the original discs, these 80min/700MB CDs combine reliability and high performance with the look and feel of a 45-rpm record -- complete with vinyl-like grooves. In addition, the Inkjet Printable Digital Vinyl CD-Rs have a coated label area compatible for printing using Inkjet CD printers.

Verbatim Printable Digital Vinyl CD-Rs provide professionals and businesses with a high-quality solution for personalizing and distributing music, video or marketing CDs that are unique and memorable. Musicians and recording studios can create their own CDs for demo recordings, concert sales and promotions. Replication houses, filmmakers and photographers can use them to create distinctive-looking discs for distribution. Businesses can use them to make product demonstrations and catalogs that are noticeably different.

The new retro-look CDs can also be used by consumers to put the fun in recording and sharing personal music mixes, photo albums and home videos; or to convert old, analog LP records to premium-quality digital media that won't degrade or lose sound fidelity every time the discs are played.

Produced to the highest standards, the new Printable Digital Vinyl CD-Rs feature Verbatim's patented blue azo recording dye technology, which provides exceptional recording stability and superior resistance to UV irradiation. To protect against scratches that can damage or destroy data, the disc's reflective layer is safeguarded with Verbatim's special dual-protective layer. Verbatim's complete family of DataLifePlus® CD-R media, including the new Inkjet Printable Digital Vinyl CD-R discs, includes this double protective layer as standard for enhanced protection against sunlight, high temperatures, humidity and handling.

Tested and certified by leading drive and inkjet CD printer manufacturers, Verbatim's new CD-R discs deliver reliable, error-free recording and broad read compatibility with even the oldest CD and DVD players. Like all Verbatim DataLifePlus® CD-R media, the new Printable Digital Vinyl CD-R discs deliver an estimated archival life of more than 100 years.

Availability, Pricing

Backed by a lifetime warranty, Verbatim's Printable Digital Vinyl CD-R media will be available April at leading retailers, Internet resellers and distributors across the country. The expected street price for the 50-pack spindles is $49.99. Verbatim also offers a complete range of printable CD and DVD media.
