Verbatim External 4K Slimline Blu-Ray Recorder
14. Conclusion
Verbatim is one of the few last companies that produce optical storage media and therefore it is obvious they would offer the hardware also to burn such storage media. The Verbatim External 4K Slimline Blu-Ray writer comes in a small package and also includes a free Verbatim 25GB BD-R media for use with the drive. Verbatim doesn't actually produce optical drives, so their choice to use Pioneer as their main vendor is correct since Pioneer has a long tradition and experience in producing quality internal/external optical storage solutions.
The Verbatim External 4K Blu-Ray writer can support all currently sold optical storage media, either for CD/DVD and Blu-Ray format, even up to 128GB BD-R media. The retail package also includes Nero Burning Rom for use, and its compact and lightweight will accompany you either in the office or on-the-road use. Passing to the performance, in general, the Verbatim External Blu-Ray Writer will perform very well, especially with Verbatim branded media. You can burn CD format up to 24X, DVD up to 8X, and for Blu-Ray up to 6X, which will reduce the waiting time until a disc is fully completed. Reading DVD-RAM discs is supported as well if you ever encounter such media. Compared with other models currently sold on the market, Pioneer's external portable drives are a competitor product, which might have a small advantage at the reading part with their exclusive Pure Read technology, but with Exact Audio Copy you can also get the very good reading performance of scratched Audio CDs.
If you can find the product at a retail price of ~110 Euro/$, it's highly suggested for road warriors and users who wish to have an optical storage (USB Powered) device at all times with them.
