Verbatim First to Launch Distinctive, Silver Inkjet Printable CD-Rs in Retail Market

Verbatim First to Launch Distinctive, Silver Inkjet Printable CD-Rs in Retail Market

Optical Storage Sep 15,2004 0

Verbatim announced today the availability of its new 52x/80-Min. Silver Inkjet Printable CD-Rs in 50-pack spindles through US retail.

The discs combine highly reliable recording technology and broad read compatibility with a new, highly advanced printable surface that optimizes inkjet printing and ink drying times. This combination enables users to make error-free recordings labeled with crisp, clear reproductions of full-color images and text.

"These unique silver CD-Rs offer truly photographic-quality text and images," said Ron Hanafin, Verbatim Product Marketing Manager. "The contrast that can be achieved with our new silver discs gives photos and graphics an iridescent look and feel. Images come alive and bright colors shine. You can immediately see the difference when comparing a design or photo on a white printable disc versus the same photo printed on Verbatim’s new silver inkjet printable CD-Rs." he noted.

Hanafin further noted that the demand for inkjet printable media will be even higher now that inkjet printers are emerging with more features and more affordable pricing. "We’re seeing new inkjet printers for less than $100 that will print paper, photos, CDs and DVDs," he explained. "With an economical solution for printing high-quality images and text directly to the surface of a disc, home and SOHO users can now share professional-looking discs with custom music mixes, digital photo albums and home videos."

Designed to take maximum advantage of today’s high-resolution inkjet CD/DVD printers and recently introduced multifunction inkjet printers, Verbatim’s innovative inkjet printable surface provides key benefits, including superior ink absorption for longer-lasting colors and fast drying properties.

Availability, Pricing

Backed by a limited lifetime warranty, Verbatim’s Silver Inkjet Printable 52X CD-R media is available at leading retailers, Internet resellers and distributors across the country. The street price for a 50-pack spindle of the Silver Inkjet Printable CDs is $24.99. Verbatim offers the industry’s broadest range of printable media, including Inkjet Hub-printable 1-8X DVD+R and DVD-R media and Inkjet Printable Digital Vinyl CD-R discs that look like 45-rpm records.
