Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Tracker Goes On Sale In China

Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Tracker Goes On Sale In China

Smartphones Jun 10,2016 0

Chinese Xiaomi has made available the recently unveiled version of its popular fitness band - the Mi Band 2. The new tracker is officially available in China and global international availability is expected to be announced soon.

In terms of design, the Mi Band 2 does not bring many changes comapred to previous generations.

The tracker still consist of two parts - a silicone strap and the capsule. On the front side of the Mi Band 2 there is a 0.42-inch OLED display covered by a scratch-resistant glass and the anti-fingerprint coating, along with a button to select the features displayed on the screen. On the opposite bottom face there is located an optical heart rate sensor.

The display of Mi Band 2 is able to show your pulse, steps passed, burned calories, distance, and time. For the first time, Mi Band users will not be tied to their smartphones to check on their daily progress.

The 24/7 activity tracker includes an upgraded pedometer algorithm and a more accurate optical heart rate sensor, along with the usual step, calorie, and sleep tracking (deep and light sleep). Optical heart rate sensors typically work by shining a LED light on the skin and measuring how the light is scattered by blood flow. You will be able to scroll through all these metrics via a button located at the bottom of the display.

The Mi Band 2 is also capable of unlocking your Xiaomi phone, and will tell you to move if you’ve been sitting for too long.

The information about incoming calls and SMS can be also displayed on the Mi Band 2 screen when you smartphone is connected to it via Bluetooth 4.0. Also there will be possible to see the remaining battery level of the band.

The device weights 7 grams and is splash proof (IP67 water resistance rating). Despite the inclusion of a screen, once charged The Mi Band 2 can keep running for up to 20 days on standby.

The device will retail for around $23 (149 Yuan). Xiaomi offers different color variations - bright orange, green, blue and deep black.
