PowerFile Announces Developer Program To Help Users Integrate and Customize Software for Its Near-Line Storage Products

Optical Storage Mar 26,2001 0

PowerFile(TM), a manufacturer of near-line storage products, today announced the PowerFile Developer Program (PDP). The PDP provides developers with PowerFile's Software Developer Kit (SDK) and developer technical support to help create and integrate custom software solutions for PowerFile's CD/DVD jukebox products. The program will allow developers to create their own interface and write their own code to integrate with PowerFile's products. The inclusion of the PowerFile SDK will give developers ActiveX control for Windows, Visual Basic sample code and documentation. Visual C and Visual Basic developers will have full programmatic access to the PowerFile C200 with the PDP. As an added-value benefit, PowerFile will promote and co-market developers' products and services on the PowerFile web site. The PDP is available for $495 per year.

Currently, developers can use the PDP with PowerFile's flagship product, the C200, a CD/DVD jukebox with a 200-disc capacity. The dual drive and FireWire- (IEEE-1394) connected C200 allows users to manage, share and store digital assets over a network.

``We created the PowerFile Developer Program because many of our customers were requesting custom integration tools,'' said Chris Stevens, PowerFile's CEO. ``The PDP was designed with the goal to give developers everything they need to create custom controls for the C200 and future PowerFile products.''
