DVD6C To Collect $4.4 million Royalty Fee From Chinese DVD Maker

Optical Storage Feb 17,2012 0

Toshiba, the authorized licensor of DVD6C Licensing Group (DVD6C), has won an arbitration to collect royalties due from ChangZhou Xingqiu Electric Co., Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer of consumer DVD players, under the DVD6C patent license. Last April, Toshiba had filed a demand for arbitration to collect royalties due from China-based manufacturer. The arbitral tribunal awarded Toshiba unpaid royalties and interest totaling over $4.4 million, plus continuing interest at a rate of 2% per month until the award is paid in full.

The unpaid royalties awarded consisted of reported, unreported and underreported royalties due.

This arbitration is part of a global initiative by the DVD6C Licensing Group to collect unpaid royalties due under the DVD6C patent license.

Changzhou Xingqiu electronic Co., Ltd. is a company that designs, sells and produces communication products and Audio and Video products, including GPS Double-Star orientation Systems, DVD players, DVD home theater, Portable DVD players and recorders.
