Netflix Launches In in Italy, Spain, Portugal
Internet TV service Netflix plans to expand into Italy, Spain and Potrugal ater this year, the company said on Saturday.
Starting in October, Internet users in Italy would be able to subscribe to Netflix to watch a selection of TV series and movies on TVs, computers, smartphones, tablets and other devices. On Thursday, Netflix said it planned to enter Spain and Portugal, also in October.
Netflix is aiming to be available throughout the world by the end of next year, although the company may have to forge partnerships to enter some countries such as China. Netflix is available in more than 50 countries worldwide, including 13 in Europe.
The service, which streams movies and TV shows over high-speed Internet connections, costs $9 per month in the U.S. Prices for Europe have not been announced yet.
