Samsung Galaxy A2 Core Launched in India
Samsung Electronics launched the Galaxy A2 Core smartphone in India to capture the low-end smartphone market.
Priced at 5,300 rupees (US$76,) the Galaxy A2 Core is a successor of the Galaxy J2 Core. It runs on the Android Go OS, which has been designed to improve the performance of low-end smartphones with less than 1GB of RAM.
The Galaxy A2 Core has a 5-inch LCD and is powered by the octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC paired with just 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The uses a a2,600mAh battery and comes equipped with a single 5MP rear camera as well as a 5MP front camera.
Samsung has already launched 10 affordable smartphone models to target the market, including the Galaxy M10 to 30 and the Galaxy A10 to 50, 70 and 80, in order to respond to the offerings of Chinese manufacturers, such as Huawei Technologies, Xiaomi and Oppo Electronics.
