Buffalo announces 8X DVD±R recorder

Japanese Buffalo, Inc. announced the DVM-R88IU2, an external 8X DVD±R recorder. The drive is based on th eupcoming Pioneer DVR-A07 and is expected in the Japanese market early in February, at a price of 31,000 Yen (240 Euros). The external drive can be connected through IEEE 1394 or USB 2.0 interfaces. The supported recording formats are the DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, and CD-R/RW. Writing of DVD-R and DVD+R can be achieved at 8X, while both DVD-RW and DVD+RW can be burned at 4x.
