HS-RW Tests
We used a Mitsubishi HS-RW discs and Nero Burning Rom for writing at the maximum allowed speed for both drives.
Asus SCB-2408 supports 4x, 8x, 10x and 12x CLV rewriting speeds.
LiteOn LSC-24081MX is able to rewrite at 4x, 8x, 10x CLV and 12x Z-CLV.
Below you can see the rewriting times of the drives at 12x for a 700MB data compilation with Nero Burning Rom:
The Asus drive gave a lower recording time than the LiteOn LSC-24081MX, due to the CLV writing mode. LiteOn could also use the CLV strategy for such a low writing speed, since the supported Z-CLV demands some extra seconds.
- Packet Writing Tests
We used InCD and Ricoh HS-RW media for all Packet Writing tests.The formatted disc had 530mbs of free space. We copied a 403 MB file (403.147 KB) from a Hard Disk (on the same PC as the writers) to the formatted RW media using explorer (we dragged and dropped):
The Asus drive was slower than LiteOn in both reading and writing tasks.
