The TravelMate 8100 is the next-generation offering of Acer's award-winning TravelMate 800/8000 platform. The new TravelMate 8100 series, designed on Intel's latest "Sonoma" platform, is based on next-generation Intel Mobile Centrino technology that supports PCI Express(TM) architecture with 533MHz FSB and utilizes DDR2 533 memory for truly exceptional performance. Supporting Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processors with speeds of up to 2GHz and the new Intel(R) 915PM Express chipset with 533MHz System Bus, the TravelMate 8100 offers full wireless connectivity through the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2915ABG network connection chipset that harnesses the IEEE 802.11a/b/g tri-mode WiFI Certified(TM) standard. Standard system memory is 512MB DDR2 533 that is scaleable to 2048MB while the ATA/100 Hard Disk offers a storage capacity of up to an exceptional 100GB. All these features render the performance of the TravelMate(TM) 8100 equal to the most powerful desktops and provide enough flexibility to handle even the most complex applications.
