Computex: New Ulrtabooks by Toshiba, Lenovo And Fujitsu
Ultrabooks are everywhere at Computex 2012 in Taipei
with Toshiba to have on display its Satellite U series,
Fujitsu to showacse two LIFEBOOK Ultrabooks and Lenovo
the IdeaPad U310 and U410 models.
Lenovo's IdeaPad U310 and U410 Ultrabooks are powered by the 3rd generation Intel Core processors and are available in a variety of colors including Sapphire Blue, Aqua Blue, Cherry Blossom Pink, Graphite Grey or Metallic Red.
The 13.3-inch U310 and 14-inch U410 measure only 0.7-inch (18mm) and 0.83-inch (21mm) thick and weigh 3.74lbs (1.7kg) and 4.18lbs (1.9kg), respectively. They are powered by 3rd generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors, have up to 1 TB of storage; NVIDIA GeForce graphics and up to nine hours of battery life on the U410; and 500 GB HDD drive and up to seven hours of battery life on the U310. They also feature Dolby Home Theatre v4 and have Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) technology to project videos and other content wirelessly on any big screen.
Available with 32GB solid state drives (SSD) to cache data, Lenovo's latest Ultrabooks also offer fast boot ups thanks to Lenovo's new Enhanced Experience 3 optimization for Windows 7 PCs. Lenovo Smart Update also enables the U310 and U410 to automatically update email, IM chats and social media messages even when in sleep mode.
The IdeaPad U Series Ultrabook devices will be available for sale beginning today in many countries worldwide as well as on Lenovo's website this week. Later this month, the Ultrabooks will be available via major retailers in countries including the U.S., UK, Germany, Russia, India, China and Japan.
MSRP for models of the IdeaPad U310 starts at $749 (USD) and $799 (USD) for the IdeaPad U410 Ultrabook.
Fujitsu introduces two LIFEBOOK Ultrabook devices -- the 14" LIFEBOOK U772 Ultrabook designed for business professionals and the 13.3" LIFEBOOK UH572 Ultrabook for consumers -- powered by the 3rd generation Intel Core processors. Durable with magnesium alloy housing, both Fujitsu Ultrabook systems offer large touchpads with integrated buttons and multi-touch gesture support.
In addition to the new LIFEBOOK Ultrabook systems, Fujitsu introduced the refreshed Fujitsu LIFEBOOK NH532 desktop replacement notebook featuring a 17.3" HD+ display and powered by a new 3rd generation Intel Core processor.
The 14" LIFEBOOK U772 Ultrabook is equipped with a frameless WXGA HD Crystal View display and supports optional port replicator for easy docking/connecting to an external monitor, mouse and/or keyboard. Sporting an ultra slim .69" profile, weighing 3.15 pounds, a fast boot-up and offering approximately 7 hours of battery life, it has been designed for a business companion. Optional 3G WWAN will be offered in Q3 2012.
The LIFEBOOK U772 Ultrabook is fully customizable with different memory, CPU, and hard drive options. It's also one of the first Ultrabook devices to offer a large HDD with SSD cache in the thinnest profile available for the commercial market. The SSD cache -- along with Intel Rapid Start Technology and ExpressCache -- allows users to resume working from standby, prolongs the battery life, and accelerates the HDD performance to near SSD speeds. With the latest Intel WiDi (Wireless Display), wirelessly stream to the TV, or utilize the HDMI port to connect to a larger HDTV.
