The drive is advertised as an external portable SSD capable of reaching 540mb/sec reading speeds. Crucial doesn't mention at all the writing speeds. Lets see how the drive performs after connecting with the type-C included cable. First lets fire up the ATTO Disk Benchmark v2.00, performance is very good with around 450-460mb/sec reading/writing:

The ATTO Disk Benchmark v4.01 showed slight slower reading/writing speeds with up to 420~436mb/sec reading/writing speeds:

Passing to the CrystalDiskMark v8.00 gives us more details about its performance, indicating slight higher reading/writing speeds than above.
