DVD6C To Collect $4.4 million Royalty Fee From Chinese DVD Maker
Toshiba, the authorized licensor of DVD6C Licensing Group
(DVD6C), has won an arbitration to collect royalties due from
ChangZhou Xingqiu Electric Co., Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer
of consumer DVD players, under the DVD6C patent license.
Last April, Toshiba had filed a demand for arbitration to
collect royalties due from China-based manufacturer.
The arbitral tribunal awarded Toshiba unpaid royalties and
interest totaling over $4.4 million, plus continuing interest
at a rate of 2% per month until the award is paid in full.
The unpaid royalties awarded consisted of reported, unreported and underreported royalties due.
This arbitration is part of a global initiative by the DVD6C Licensing Group to collect unpaid royalties due under the DVD6C patent license.
