Mitsubishi Kagarou announced that from early December, will start selling at the Japanese market certified 16X DVD-R media... The following text comes from Japanese translation:

"...The DVD-R media for data based on "DVD-R for General Ver.2.1 Optional Specifications 16 x-SPEED DVD-R Revision 6.0." Data transmission speed is a maximum of 177.28 Mbps(es), and it is said per disk in about 6 minutes that record is possible. The added type DVD record film of a postscript improves original coloring matter "DAIN AZO (DYN-AZO)", and corresponds to 1 - 16X record. It is said that new coloring matter aimed at improvement in record sensitivity or the power margin at the time of high-speed record compared with conventional coloring matter..."
