MWC: Fujitsu Delivers New Ruggedized Industrial Business Tablet
Fujitsu today unveiled a fully-ruggedized industrial business tablet, the FUJITSU Tablet STYLISTIC V535, at Mobile World Congress. The FUJITSU Tablet STYLISTIC V535 has an 8.3-inch (21.0 cm) WUXGA display with a screen resolution of 1920x1200 pixels, combined with an IPS multi-touch display. It is powered by an Intel Atom quad-core processor (including 64-bit support) and ships with Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro or Embedded 8.1 Pro pre-installed.
The tablet also comes with 4 GB memory and capacity for up to 128 GB eMMC storage. Connectivity options include GPS and NFC connectivity. In its most basic configuration, the unit weighs 1.2 lbs.
The tablet also includes contactless authentication, which facilitates device log-on for users wearing gloves or other protective clothing. The STYLISTIC V535 also is built to operate within a wider temperature range than consumer devices, making it appropriate for diverse work environments and varying temperature conditions.
The tablet can be implemented into specialized industrial settings through the Fujitsu Smart Shell Concept. This is a range of user-exchangeable shells that allow the STYLISTIC to be more easily integrated into a work configuration. The Smart Card Smart Shell with SmartCard reader adds secure, hardware-based identification and authentication options. In addition to smart shells that enhance the security of the product, there are also smart shells for retail point of sale (PoS) environments. These smart shells enable use of PoS peripherals when the tablet device is docked as well as a mobile PoS and payment terminal when undocked.
The FUJITSU Tablet STYLISTIC V535 is available to order this quarter in EMEIA and North America.
