Oak Technology signs OEM agreement for SimpliCD Software with Pacific Digital
Oak Technology, Inc. announced today that it has signed an agreement with Pacific Digital Corporation to bundle its SimpliCD Standard CD recording software with Pacific Digital's newest line of CD-RW drives.
"Pacific Digital has a high-profile presence in the consumer retail arena," said Felix Nemirovsky, general manager for Oak's Optical Media Software Group. "With SimpliCD software, the company now offers to consumers a complete optical storage solution with the ability to make backups of data, or to easily record photo, music, and video CDs right out of the box."
"With the dramatic growth of consumer-generated digital content, Pacific Digital was interested in including consumer-friendly CD recording software with its latest CD-RW retail product. Oak's SimpliCD software allows us to provide a total solution that allows a satisfying experience for users of our CD-RW drives," said Tony Tate, vice president of Sales and Marketing at Pacific Digital. "Consumers will find the combination of our latest, fastest CD-RW drive and SimpliCD to be the easiest way to burn CDs in order to make backups of data, or to enjoy their digital media on all their consumer electronics devices."
SimpliCD Standard
SimpliCD is Oak's CD-Recording software that embeds directly within the Windows® operating system and simplifies the creation of audio, video and photo CDs. Additionally, SimpliCD software includes a revolutionary new patent-pending feature, Picture Slide Show, which instantly burns a collection of digital photos to a CD that will play automatically in home DVD Players.
The SimpliCD program includes four applications that integrate tightly with Windows. SimpliCD Recorder is a multimedia disc creation tool for easily creating audio, slide show and video discs on CD-R. SimpliCD Copy is a convenient utility for quickly duplicating discs. SimpliCD ROM is used to create standard data CD-ROMs that can be read on any computer simply by dragging and dropping them onto the program's desktop icon and selecting ``burn.'' The fourth module, SimpliCD ReWrite, allows CD-RW media to act like a giant floppy disc. Users can drag files to it in Explorer or save to it directly from within a program. For any of these applications, a guided path in SimpliCD Guide, the easily accessible electronic documentation, makes learning the software fast and easy.
