Plasmon to Showcase New UDO2 Blue-Laser Storage Technology at CeBIT

Plasmon to Showcase New UDO2 Blue-Laser Storage Technology at CeBIT

Optical Storage Mar 1,2007 0

Plasmon will demonstrate their UDO Archive Appliance and G-Series archive solutions with new UDO2 technology at CeBIT 07. Six key application and technology partners will join Plasmon on their CeBIT stand to present their solutions, which are fully certified with UDO archival storage technology.

UDO2 offers double the capacity and a 50 percent increase in performance over Plasmon’s first generation, UDO, blue-laser storage technology. With UDO2, Plasmon’s Flagship UDO Archive Appliance offers archives that scale from 1TB to over 76TB.

"Thousands of our customers already benefit from the longevity and authenticity of a UDO archive. This year we are also highlighting the very low energy consumption of our solutions. Many companies are concerned about rising energy cost and carbon emissions and the UDO Archive Appliance consumes dramatically less power than magnetic disk alternatives. Plasmon archive solutions with UDO2 technology ensure that customers do not compromise their reputation, profits, business or the environment," said Steve Tongish, marketing director EMEA at Plasmon.

Partners joining Plasmon on their stand at CeBIT include: QStar Technology, BridgeHead Software, Nexsan, DataGlobal, Verbatim and PDO Europe. The software partners have integrated Plasmon’s UDO Archive Appliance and G-Series libraries as an archival storage component within their data and storage resource management applications. Verbatim (Mitsubishi Kagaku Media - MKM) is Plasmon’s long-standing UDO media development and manufacturing partner, and PDO a pan-European media specialist.

Plasmon UDO archival storage solutions will also be on display on the stands of other application and channel partners at CeBIT. These include: EASY Software, DICOM, Headway Technology, Incom Storage GmbH, Point Software, and windream GmbH.
