Plextor launches new USB 2.0 flash memory kits

Plextor launches new USB 2.0 flash memory kits

General Interest Apr 2,2003 0

Plextor is extending its product range of storage solutions with the PlexFlash, a digital USB Flash Memory Drive. The extension of the product range with a first non-optical storage product fits in Plextor's strategy of offering a complete range of storage solutions. The PlexFlash has a trendy silver-coloured outer, weighs barely 30 g, and is available with three different storage capacities: 128MB (PX-F128), 256MB (PX-F256) and 512MB (PX-F512). You can simply and quickly plug the drive into the USB port of any computer just like a hard disk, and move data at a transfer speed of no less than 4MB/sec (reading speed of 5MB/sec) from desktop to portable or vice versa.

"The PlexFlash USB Flash Memory drive is a handy tool for whoever works with different PC's and needs to transfer data. The PlexFlash is the first non-optical storage product marketed by Plextor, and fits in our strategy of offering a complete range of storage products," says Patrick Peeters, Sales & Marketing Manager at Plextor Europe.

As small as a finger, as light as a feather, and as fast as you like Ultracompact, with a weight of barely 30 g, the PlexFlash fits easily inside your trouser pocket. And you can still put a whole library of data on it! The PlexFlash is compatible with the USB 2.0 standard and can easily reach transfer speeds of 4MB/sec. It can even read a little faster than that, with a reading speed of 5MB/sec. If you think about large files such as PowerPoint presentations, video and photo material, MP3-files, etc. you will immediately understand how handy the PlexFlash can be.

USB stands for 'plug and play'. All you have to do is start up your computer and click the PlexFlash into a USB port. You can then simply read, write, copy, remove or delete data, or move it from your PC to the PlexFlash and vice versa. For Windows Me/2000/XP, Mac 9.x and higher you don't even need any separate drivers, as the PlexFlash is recognised as an external drive.

The PlexFlash will be available from mid-April 2003 for a recommended retail price (excl. VAT) of 79 EUR for the PX-F128, 145 EUR for the PX-F256 and 279 EUR for the PX-F512 from Plextor sales outlets. The PlexFlash is supplied with a 2-year warranty.
